About Karabena Coaching
Coaching with a Cause, Coaching for a Cause
Holistic conceptions of health and wellbeing are embedded in values and perspectives, practices and traditions of the oldest living ecosystem-sensitive civilisation on planet Earth. People get motivated by contributing to something larger than themselves – and the sustainability of our planet and relationships with one another is a good place to start. Kerry Arabena
Karabena Coaching is a 100% First Nations-owned coaching business. Professor Kerry Arabena – academic turned coach – established Karabena Coaching to promote healing and recovery, to foster positive identities and to support people’s health, wealth and wellbeing aspirations. Our work is evidence generative and evidence informed. Our coaches have traits that align with curiosity, respect, exploration and discovery. Karabena Coaching benchmarks against International Coaching Federation (ICF) standards and our trainers are experienced consultants, members of the ICF or working toward securing their ICF accreditation.
Our courses are offered as a stand-alone program for individuals, teams and organisations, for professional groups – particularly emergency department workers and those working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in crisis – and others wanting to incorporate Indigenous principles in their lives. Our courses are a gateway for further ‘learn how to coach from an Indigenous worldview’ opportunities through the Australian Indigenous Coaching Institute. We expect the Institute to be fully operational in 2022.
